To volunteer at First Time Computers, please contact us. First Time Computers needs volunteers in several areas:

Teachers/Trainers

We need people-oriented techies to serve as instructors in our computer refurbishing training course, particularly those with experience in qualifying students for A+ Certification in Information Technology.

We are also looking for a person with experience in loading a standard software package as a single installation onto the hard drives donated computers. We need another who can identify freeware useful to First Time Computers.

Autobiographic Video Program

We are looking for a creative type to help set up a "Stories" program to assist at-risk youth making videos about their own lives and putting them up on sites like You Tube and MySpace. See Future Programs for more information.

Printer Repair

We need a volunteer who can fix small desktop printers with paper-feed and other problems.

Office Work

We can use volunteers to help build our data bases of computer donors and recipients and to set up the donor database so that it can yield a mailing list for fund-raising.

Website Development

We need a computer-savvy volunteer to put together a set of links for this website to the sites of related programs and make other improvements to the website.
